Living Room
Eastern Winner: J Banks Design Group prevailed with their Residential Design. The traditional living room design creates a cozy, welcoming ambiance with a roasting fire and plush chairs throughout. Traditional features such as the Oriental rug and built-in bookshelves add warmth and dynamism to the space. As if the room wasn’t stunning enough, it’s framed by floor-to-ceiling French doors that flood the room with natural light. A winner, indeed.
Bedroom
Eastern Winner: Frederick + Frederick Architects led the pack with their inviting Hilton Head House. The design balances sophistication and comfort without allowing the extraordinary architecture to overwhelm the room. The exposed beams, crown molding and artistic window surprisingly don’t steal the show as much as the luxurious bed and intimate sitting space. Don’t you want to curl up with a good book in this well-lit bedroom?
Bathroom
Western Winner: Jodi Fleming Design pulled off the win with the Lyrical Charm project – the only western winner in the 2016 national competition. The elegant accents such as the dramatic curtains, the double slipper tub, an old-fashioned hand shower faucet and a chic, upholstered chair create a luxurious atmosphere. The cottage-style space balances crisp white finishes with high-end accents for a hyper-clean, yet relaxing and posh space. The garden view tops off the room with coveted bathroom privacy.
Kitchen
Eastern Winner: Cure Design Group swept the competition with their Magic on Larkmont Kitchen Remodel. The counter space alone was enough to wrangle a cooks vote. Couple that sought-after space with contemporary features such as pendent lighting, a subway tile backsplash, wide-plank hardwoods and a double oven, and the competition falls away. The space includes a kitchen island and stools for both function and fashion.
Patio
Eastern Winner: Michael Abraham Architecture claimed the win with their Eastern design of the Lake Geneva Basswood project. The traditional design allows the scenery to take center stage. Simple furniture and groomed landscaping create a welcoming environment to enjoy the paper over a warm cup of coffee, entertain company or indulge in an afternoon nap. The spectacular waterfront view could entice anyone.
Congratulations to the 2016 Zillow Digs Design Awards winners.
