Bored of triangle eyes? Elbow-deep in pumpkin goop?
Watch a master sculptor carve the house from “The Silence of the Lambs” onto a 100-pound pumpkin. Russ Leno shares his secrets (yes, even the pros use super glue) to help make your design come to life.
Don’t have a pumpkin? The patch is where it’s at. Leno recommends getting one fresh from a farm because, like any fruit, pumpkins can bruise easily in a bin at the grocery store. There are hundreds of varieties to choose from, but you can’t go wrong with a Prizewinner, Atlantic Giant or Fat Jack.
Once you have your pumpkin, figure out what you want to carve. It helps to have a photo or drawing to reference.
